A CONVERSATION WITH YOUR FUTURE SELF
Someday, you might disagree with yourself.
About driving. Money. Your health. Living alone. Accepting help. And someone you love may have to make a difficult decision.
What if you could tell them today what you'd want them to do tomorrow?
What if you could tell them today what you'd want them to do tomorrow?
I Said You Could⢠helps you put your wishes into words now, while they're still yours to make, so the people you trust have guidance when it matters most. Your wishes. Your voice. Your permission.
Why This Exists
Knowing what someone wants doesnāt always make acting on it easy.
You might know your mom shouldnāt be driving anymore. You might know your partner needs more help than you can give. But knowing and feeling allowed are very different things.
Especially when the person you love is now saying, āAbsolutely not.ā
I Said You Could⢠gives you a way to have that conversation earlier. To explain what matters to you, what changes youād want someone to notice, and when youād want them to step in.
So they have your words to return to, instead of having to guess.
What You Can Give Permission For
The things we put off talking about. And the things we assume someone already knows.
We cover all type of services but typically:
- DRIVING
- LIVING ALONE
- ACCEPTING CARE
- MONEY
- LIVING YOUR OWN LIFE
How It Works
Step 1: Choose A Conversation
Start with something that matters to you. A decision you worry about. A responsibility you donāt want someone carrying alone.
Step 2: Put It In Your Words
Say what youād want to happen and why. Be specific. Sound like yourself. This doesnāt need to be a perfect speech.
Step 3: Save It & Talk About It
Keep your message somewhere you can return to. Let the person itās meant for know what youāve said. Revisit it together as life changes.
Not Sure Where to Start?
Finish one of these sentences...
āIF YOU NOTICEā¦ā
What would tell someone itās time to have a conversation or offer help?
āWHAT MATTERS MOST TO ME ISā¦ā
What would you want them to understand before making a difficult decision?
āYOU HAVE MY PERMISSION TOā¦ā
What do you want someone you love to feel allowed to do, without carrying the guilt?
Your Words Can Help
Less Guessing
Give someone a clearer sense of what you want and why. Especially when there isnāt an easy answer.
Room to Be Honest
You can love your independence and acknowledge that you might need help someday. Both can be true.
Something to Return To
A difficult conversation can be hard to remember. A saved message gives you somewhere to begin again.
MY MOM HAS MS. THIS STARTED WITH HER.
Iāve thought a lot about what happens when someone you love needs help but doesnāt want to accept it. And what it feels like to be the person who has to push.
Then I thought about Mira. About the decisions my daughter might someday face. I donāt want her wondering whether helping me means betraying me.
I want her to hear it from me: you have my permission.
Thatās where I Said You Could⢠began.

A Note From Rikke
Iām Rikke. A daughter, a mother, and someone who knows I may eventually be very annoying about accepting help.
So Iām having the conversation now.
I built I Said You Could⢠because I want the people I love to know what I mean while I can explain it clearly. I want them to have more than āI think this is what she would have wanted.ā
This is an early beta. Iād love you to try it, save a message, and tell me where you get stuck or what feels missing.

FAQ
Is This A Legal Document?
No. I Said You Could⢠is a place to express personal wishes and give guidance to people you trust. It does not replace a will, advance directive, power of attorney, or other legal document. It does not give someone legal authority to act on your behalf. This is intentional.
Do I Have to Be Older or ill to Use It?
No. You can start whenever thereās something you want another person to understand. You donāt have to wait for a crisis to have a useful conversation. I started at 55 years old.
What If I Change My Mind?
You can change your mind, however, whenever. When your wishes change, revisit your message and make sure the people involved understand what you want now.
Do I Have to Sign Up Somewhere First?
Nope. Go straight to the beta and follow the prompts to get started. Thereās no separate waiting list for this invitation. If you wish to continue to keep it live and in action for updated feedback, signing up is best.
Is This Beta Free?
Yes. You can try the current beta for free. Itās an early version, and your feedback will help shape what comes next. The agreement will always be free and other parts will eventually be added at a nominal fee.
What Feedback Would Help?
Try creating and saving one message. Tell me what felt clear, what felt awkward, and whether anything stopped you from finishing. You donāt need to share the personal contents of your message.
Tell Me What You Think?
Have a question? Got stuck? Thought of something that would make this more useful?
I Said You Could⢠is still taking shape, and Iād love to hear from you. Tell me what worked, what didnāt, or what you wish it could do. No need to share your private messages. Just your experience.
Cheers, Rikke
